Bella di Monza
The restoration of the rose garden using the “Bella di Monza” rose first crossbred by Luigi Villoresi began in early 2012 under the supervision of expert botanists.
The history of Italian roses officially began with Luigi Villoresi, the first Italian rose breeder who served as the director of the Royal Gardens of Monza from 1812 to 1825. The world-famous “Bella di Monza” (Modoetiensis Villoresi) was the work of his hands in the early 19th century.
